Are you looking to adopt a Yorkshire Terrier in Knysna who has plenty of character, loyalty, and love to give? Meet Roxy! She is a beautiful 10 year old female Yorkie who is looking for a soft place to land. Weighing in at a tiny +-2.5kg, Roxy has absolutely no idea she is a small dog—she behaves like she is the size of a proud lion! She is a wonderful little guard dog who takes her job seriously, but once she knows you, she is your ultimate shadow.
Roxy's absolute favorite activity is finding a warm patch of sunlight to sleep in. When she isn't sunbathing, she loves going for walks and being close to her human. She is used to sleeping in bed with her owners, snuggled up warm under the blankets.
While Roxy is incredibly loving to her inner circle, she is a typical sassy Yorkie who does not take kindly to strangers and needs careful introductions, she will nip at ankles. She does not enjoy the company of young children and will nip if she feels overwhelmed, so she requires a quiet, mature, adult-only home. She is also a little escape artist who will look for gaps in gates or try to slip through doors, so a highly secure garden with secure fencing is an absolute must to keep this precious girl safe.

Temperament: Feisty, loyal, and incredibly loving to her family. She is a dedicated shadow who loves to snuggle in bed but is wary of strangers and has a strong "watchdog" instinct.
With other Dogs: Needs careful introductions. She is accustomed to being the center of attention but can coexist with proper, slow introductions.
With Cats: She will bark at cats.
With Children: Roxy does not enjoy the company of young children and will nip if startled or handled roughly. An adult-only home is required.
Housetraining: Yes, she is potty trained and has a designated training sheet at night. She may occasionally mark a spot with a few drops if something new or out of place is introduced to her environment.
Health/Special Needs: Roxy was born with a dry eye and has deteriorating vision in her right eye, which is managed easily and affordably with daily lubricant eye drops. She is missing a few teeth, so she prefers soft treats and tiny Yorkie kibble. She is healthy, active, loves to run, and is up to date on her vaccinations. She is not microchipped.
