🐶 Meet Max – A Sturdy, Loving Boy Seeking a Fresh Start
Max's world was recently turned upside down when his beloved owner sadly passed away. This handsome, robust 6-year-old male Yorkshire Terrier is now in search of a loving forever home where he can heal his heart and bring endless joy to his new family. Weighing in at a sturdy 8-10kg, Max is a slightly larger, resilient boy who is built for adventures and active companionship.
Max is an incredibly friendly lad who simply loves everyone he meets. He has a wonderful zest for life and gets along excellently with other dogs, making him a fantastic candidate for a home with existing canine friends. While he hasn't had formal leash training, he absolutely loves going on walks and has enjoyed plenty of outdoor excursions in his past life, so he is always ready to explore the neighborhood with you.
As a self-assured gentleman, Max likes to make his own decisions. He prefers to choose when he wants to jump onto your lap for a cuddle or ask to be picked up, rather than being handled unexpectedly. Because of this, Max is best suited for an adult-only home or a family with older, respectful teenagers who understand and respect his personal boundaries. If you are looking for a loyal, walking partner with a heart of gold, Max is the boy for you!

Temperament: Friendly, outgoing, and highly affectionate on his own terms. He loves people and has a wonderful, social personality.
Good with Dogs: Excellent. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a canine companion.
Good with Cats: No. Max is not good with cats.
Good with Children: No. He does not like being picked up against his will and prefers to choose when to cuddle. An adult-only home or one with older, respectful teenagers is required.
Housetraining: Yes
Health/Special Needs: Healthy with no known health concerns.
Ideal Home: A calm, loving home with an active owner who will take him on regular walks. A home with another friendly dog would be ideal, but no cats or small children. Adopters must respect his space and let him choose when he wants to be held. Max shares a special bond with his buddy Chelsea, and we would ideally love to find them a loving home together if possible. Keeping these two companions together would be our preference, although each potential home will still be carefully considered with their individual wellbeing in mind.
