Chelsea is a beautiful 6-year-old female Yorkie with a tender, gentle soul. Sadly, Chelsea is looking for a new home because her beloved owner recently passed away. This darling girl is currently located in Somerset West, Cape Town, and is ready to bring her quiet warmth and affection to a family who will cherish her. Chelsea is slightly larger than your average Yorkie, weighing between 8-10kg, making her a sturdy yet wonderfully huggable companion.
With her soft heart and gentle nature, Chelsea is an incredibly sweet dog who thrives on gentle companionship. She has a sensitive personality and prefers to make the rules when it comes to physical affection—she is not a fan of being abruptly picked up, preferring instead to ask for cuddles or decide when she is ready to hop onto your lap. Once she trusts you, she is a loyal and devoted friend who will happily spend her days by your side.
Chelsea is excellent with other dogs and is already house-trained. While she is not fully leash-trained, she absolutely loves going for walks and is eager to explore the world with you. Temperament: Chelsea has a very soft heart and a gentle, slightly sensitive personality. She likes to have autonomy over her space and will ask to be picked up or sit on your lap when she is ready.
Good with Dogs: Excellent. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs.
Good with Cats: Unknown / not tested.
Good with Children: Not recommended for homes with small children. Chelsea has not been around many children, and she strongly dislikes being picked up by them. Any children in the home should be older and respectful of her boundaries.
Housetraining: Yes, she is fully house-trained.
Health/Special Needs: She has no known health concerns. Please note she is not currently sterilized, so her new family will need to ensure this is arranged.
Ideal Home: A calm, quiet home with a patient owner who understands sensitive dogs. A home without young children would be best, where she can enjoy regular walks, receive gentle love, and settle in at her own pace. Chelsea shares a special bond with her buddy Max, and we would ideally love to find them a loving home together if possible. Keeping these two companions together would be our preference, although each potential home will still be carefully considered with their individual wellbeing in mind.
