🐶 Meet Mia – A Gentle, Loving Soul Ready to Warm Your Heart

Meet Mia, an incredibly sweet and gentle 12-year-old Yorkshire Terrier currently looking for her perfect retirement home in Brackenfell, Western Cape. Mia is a very calm, quiet, and lovable little lady who has so much devotion left to give. This precious senior girl is in urgent need of a quiet, compassionate home where she can spend her golden years feeling safe, secure, and deeply loved.

Mia is an extremely loving little girl who likes to attach herself closely to her chosen person. She wants nothing more than to stay near you, follow you from room to room, and shower you with her quiet affection. Despite her senior years, Mia's legs are still healthy and she can still joyfully jump onto the couch to snuggle up right next to you. She is a loyal companion who will quickly become your shadow and your best friend.

Because of her age, Mia does have some special needs. She is partially blind due to cataracts and has impaired hearing, which means she can sometimes have poor depth perception and may bump into objects, especially in the dark. Because she cannot safely manage stairs on her own, she requires a single-story home. Mia gets along beautifully with other animals and has shown absolutely no aggression, making her a very peaceful addition to a calm household. If you have a quiet heart and a stair-free home, Mia is waiting to fill your days with gentle joy.

💖 Mia's Personality and Needs

  • Age: 12 years old (turning 13 in December)

  • Temperament: Extremely calm, gentle, and loving. She forms an incredibly strong bond with her primary caregiver and loves to stay close for comfort and cuddles.

  • Good with Dogs: Generally good. She has shown no aggression towards other animals and is very peaceful.

  • Good with Cats: Unsure / not tested, but she is very gentle and comfortable around other animals.

  • Good with Children: Not good. While she is not aggressive at all, children are not recommended because they may not handle her gently or carefully enough given her limited vision and hearing.

  • Housetraining: Yes, she is fully house-trained.

  • Health/Special Needs: Mia is partially blind due to cataracts and has impaired hearing. She has poor depth perception and cannot manage stairs on her own, though she walks and gets up easily. She has some missing teeth and is receiving dental powder for her breath. Her vaccination and sterilization records are up to date.

  • Ideal Home: A quiet, single-story home (strictly no stairs) with a gentle owner who is home often to give her the close companionship she craves. An adult-only environment is highly recommended to ensure she isn't accidentally startled or bumped.
